AF Corse GT3 Seat For Glynn Geddie

1 Mins read

Already signed for a full season attack on the British GT Championship with CRS Racing Scotsman Glynn Geddie has now confirmed a deal for the FIA GT3 European Championship with Italian team AF Corse.

The team – led by Amato Ferrari – are one of the leading Ferrari-running teams in Europe, with race wins in the FIA GT Championship and Le Mans Series to their credit.

“It’s a huge honour to have joined a team of AF Corse’s standing,” said Geddie. “Historically they have worked with some fantastic drivers but that doesn’t put any extra pressure on me. That simply just makes me even more determined to show what I can do and make my mark in a top class field of drivers.”

The team return to the European GT3 series this year, renewing a relationship which began in the first year of the series – 2006 – when the squad fielded Maseratis. However, for 2011 the team will enter two Ferrari 458 GT3, one shared by whilst Francesco Castellacci and Federico Leo. Geddie will share a second car with Daniel Brown.

“We are delighted to welcome Glynn into our team and look forward to working closely with him in the forthcoming season,” said Ferrari. “He is clearly a talented young driver who we hope to nurture and develop over the coming months.”

The FIA GT3 season begins on May 8 at the Portimao circuit.

“I’ve been testing at various circuits over the past few weeks and I’ve been pleased with the early results,” said Geddie. “Obviously at this stage it is only an indication of how things might pan out over the course of the season.”

“But our preparations have been positive and very professional to help give us the best possible chance of succeeding.”
