Freddy Nordstrom Signs Up For British GT Evora

22-year-old Freddy Nordstrom has been announced as the second driver in one of two GT4 Lotus Evora in this year's Avon Tyres British GT Championship. He will share the car – run by CM Consolidated – with Leyton Clarke.

“I'm thrilled to be racing in the British GT Championship this year,” Nordstrom said. “It's a series I've always admired, and with the exciting field that's already been announced it's obviously a great year to join.”

“Being able to join the Lotus Sport team is an honour for me. They hold so much history and prestige in the sport and it's great to be able to work with them in their new era.”

The news comes at the end of an off-season where the Anglo-Swedish racer tested in arrange of machinery, from Formula Fords to a Carrera Cup Porsche and a Mosler.

With his entry in the championship Nordstrom returns to UK racing after two seasons racing in Europe, in the in Spanish SEAT Leon Supercopa, in busy fields with car counts as high as 35. as well as the Eurocup. That move came after the UK SEAT championship, where Nordstrom raced for two seasons, was dropped from the UK racing scene after 2008.

Nordstrom hopes, that with the greater experience behind him, and in one of Britain's premier series, 2011 will be a new 'new start' for his racing career. The Avon Tyres British GT Championship begins on Easter weekend at Oulton Park.
