Nissan have announced that the first ever public showing of their revolutionary zero-emission racing car will be at Le Mans next weekend (June 11).
The Nissan LEAF NISMO RC based on their first all-electric production car, the Nissan LEAF, was launched at the 2011 New York International Auto Show in April and will be at Le Mans Vers Le Futur, a support event for the 79th running of the legendary Le Mans 24 hour race.
There will be two demonstrations of the electric vehicle, the first at 21.15 on Thursday 9 June and the second at 12.10 on Saturday 11 June.
Elsewhere at Le Mans, the Nissan/NISMO powered LMP2 cars will participate in the main event round the Circuit de la Sarthe. The gruelling 24 hours represent the toughest endurance race in the world for manufacturers and drivers.
Nissan will also be competing in the LMP2 category, with the first winner of GT Academy, Lucas Ordonez, piloting the Signatech Nissan.
