Team ORECA-Matmut Top Of LMP2 At Eight Hour Mark

1 Mins read

The Team ORECA-Matmut ORECA 03 has completed a third of the Le Mans 24 Hour in the lead, after an incident free opening eight hours.

Thanks to Alexander Premat's quintuple stint the #48 ORECA car is a lap up in the LMP2 class, while the triple stint of Dominik Krahmer and the double stint of David Hallyday have contributed to the Signes built car's success.

“This time, it's done! I've completed my first race stint in the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” declared Dominik Kraihamer, with a smile. “ This triple stint was really cool. I wasn't very successful with the traffic at the beginning, but I think everyone has this kind of trouble.

“Sometimes, I preferred to lose a few seconds than to take risks. The car is quick and consistent. It's hard to find the words to describe my debut at Le Mans!”

“As night fell, it wasn't always very easy,” notes David Hallyday, making his return to prototypes. “I had to get used to this particular conditions. Besides the traffic, which is really difficult to manage, my stints went well. The sunset at Le Mans is a little like a postcard.

“The car is handling well, despite a little understeer. I'm still enjoying myself a lot behind the wheel.” He said.
