A stunning last gasp lap by Carl Breeze saw him pip his championship rival Tom Sharp to pole position for Round 23 of the 2011 Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup in qualifying at Brands Hatch.

A lap time of 1min 31.057s saw Sharp top the timesheets towards the end of the session and the IDL driver looked set for pole, but with the chequered flag out, Total Control Racing's Breeze hooked up a great final lap to snatch pole by 0.075s, with a 1min 30.982s.

Fellow championship contenders Adam Morgan and Nathan Freke will line up on row two, the Ciceley Racing and Century Motorsport drivers respectively both within 0.350s of pole. A superb fifth fastest on his debut in the series is ex-BTCC racer Patrick Watts, with Fergus Walkinshaw joining him on row three, just ahead of Century team-mate Phil Broad.

Eighth overall and taking the G50 class pole was Jake Hill, the Tollbar Racing driver just pipping the G55 of Colin White. The rest of the grid is made up of G50's, with Andrew Richardson taking second in class, ahead of Jody Fannin and Louise Richardson. FML's Aaron Williamson was next up, while a disappointing sixth in class was championship leader Tom Ingram after his anti-roll bar snapped during the session.

A returning Rob Gaffney was next up for Meridian Motorsport, while completing the seventeen car grid are two newcomers, Beacon Racing's Gary Duckman and Redbrick Racing's Mark Johnston.
