Blancpain–Reiter Lamborghini driver Marc A. Hayek set the fastest time in testing ahead of the three hour Blancpain Endurance Series race at Silverstone.
Swiss Hayek, who shares the Lamborghini with Reiter regular Peter Kox lapped the 3.66mile Grand Prix layout of the British Grand Prix venue in 2:05.107.
Like much of the running on Friday – the British Formula Three International Series and Avon Tyres British GT Championship are also on the bill this weekend – the results of the 90-minute long testing session was heavily influenced by the weather, with a rain storm coming half way through the session preventing any improvement of times.
Dino Lunardi set the second fastest time in an Alpina B6 entered by Marc VDS Racing – who also field their BMW Z4 in the race.
After their British GT outing at Donington Park JR Motorsports return their Nissan GTR GT3 to Blancpain duty, setting the fourth fastest time of the session.
The car of Greg Franchi – who holds a comfortable lead in the GT3 class championship – was eleventh fastest. The Belgian shares the WRT–Belgian Audi Club R8 LMS with Andrea Piccini and Christopher Mies.
Former British GT champions David and Godfrey Jones are doubling up their regular domestic commitments with an entry in the Blancpain Endurance Series, hoping to repeat their Pro-Am Cup class podium from the Total 24 Hours of Spa. The twins were ninth fastest.
RJN Motorsports were 21st fastest of the 29 cars that set a lap time during the session. The driving trio of Alex Buncombe, Chris Ward and Jordan Tresson were the fastest GT4 runner.
