A first ever race for the series in Russia headlines next year's FIA GT3 European Championship calendar as part of a seven race schedule announced by the FIA.
Navarra, Portimao and Zandvoort all retain their places on the calendar from 2011, but elsewhere the schedule is heavily revised.
Like the GT1 World Championship the GT3 will support at all of the seven rounds, there is no British round of the championship. Instead, the series will return to Nogaro and Zolder, having last visited the venues in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
The Moscow Raceway – a 2.5mile track located 75km outside of the city – will host the GT1 and GT3 series on September 16.
Zandvoort (October 7) is the final confirmed date with the finale left TBC on the published list.
“In these tough economic times,” explained Stephane Ratel. “We have to plan each event carefully and all the GT3 European races will be held on the same weekend as GT1. One of the advantages of this means we will give the race fans even more to see on each of these weekends. GT3 will also travel to Moscow, which promises to be one of the highlights of the season.”
