Tyre manufacturer Maxxis is "inflating British motorsport" with its reward scheme

Tyre manufacturer Maxxis is offering a cash reward to drivers that make the podium in British motorsport in 2012.

Maxxis is offering the reward to any driver racing on their tyres, covering any four-wheel race series outside of karting. Drivers will win £500, £250 or £100 for first, second or third place finishes.

Maxxis' managing director Derek McMartin said the incentive would help successful drivers in funding their careers during difficult times.

“We know how difficult it is to get a car onto the track in the first place, let alone keep it there once the season gets underway,” he said.

“We hope that our cash prizes will make a difference to every successful driver and go towards maintaining their positions in their respective series, as we appreciate the costs associated with racing competitively in the motorsport world.”
