Motorsport UK, the event which promotes all categories of the UK’s national motorsport, will now take place at the home of British motorsport. A long-term agreement has been signed with Silverstone to become the new venue and the event renamed Silverstone Motorsport UK.

The news follows the success of last year’s inaugural event which took place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and featured the likes of Team ES Racing (polesitters at last weekend’s BTCC opener), Go Motorsport, Formula Kart Stars and P1 Powerboats.

Visitors will be able to put questions to drivers, race team bosses and key figures from the industry as part of The Checkered Flag fans forum which will take place on the Motors TV main stage. TV presenter Gemma Scott will be hosting as key figures provide their top tips on getting into motorsport.

The event is run by Martin Capenhurst, organiser of KartMania, and he urges anyone with an ambition to compete in motorsport to attend the event in November.

“In addition to the live element, the 5,000 square foot main hall will provide visitors with the chance to make contact and network with suppliers, organisers and key people from the industry who will share their experiences and quite simply break down the barriers in getting into and moving forward in motorsport”

This year’s show also sees the introduction of the Silverstone LIVE Experience, allowing fans to get a taste of the Stowe circuit with a trained instructor and the Go Motorsport – Motorsport UK Kart Challenge which gives visitors the opportunity to race against friends and other visitors in a series of rounds for a selection of prizes.

Capenhurst believes Silverstone Motorsport UK will provide something for all motorsport enthusiasts, whether they are interested in watching or competing in the sport.

For youngsters and adults looking to make a start into Motorsport we have a number of new LIVE elements providing visitors with the chance to get behind the wheel of one of SIlverstone’s cars and learn the ropes with a qualified instructor, to the Go Motorsport kart challenge providing visitors the chance to compete and win sponsorship for their 2012 season to individuals having the chance to sample hot laps of cars that they are looking to purchase on the Silverstone Stowe circuit”

Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited, has welcomed the news which has firmly established the event as a key date on the British motorsport calendar.

“We are delighted to welcome Motorsport UK and Kart Mania to Silverstone. We have been extremely impressed with the two events and we look forward to working with Martin, his team and partners in making these events a success and a not to miss fixture on the UK Motorsport calendar”

The event takes place on the 3rd and 4th November and adult tickets will be priced £15.00 or £35.00 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children), which includes free parking and free event programme. Under 16’s and concessions are just £7.50 and MSA license holders are £10.00 if tickets are purchased in advanced. For more information on Silverstone Motorsport UK visit www.motorsportshow.co.uk
