In partnership with high performance engine oil firm RAVENOL Silverstone MotorSport UK have launched “The Spirit Of MotorSport UK Awards” offering a prize fund of over £10,000 to share between national level racers.

“We are delighted to be involved in this fantastic initiative,” said Dave Mott, and ex-co driver now sales director of RAVENOL’s UK distributor, German Oil. “We feel that this partnership will not just showcase the high performance of RAVENOL engine oils but will demonstrate our desire to be involved in all levels of national motorsport, from the BTCC and BRC to entry level club racing and track days.”

The awards will fall into three categories – karting, rallying and racing – and will be awarded to three winners, each of whom will take a share of the prize fund that makes it one of the biggest prizes available in national racing. Each winner will be presented with their trophy and a £500 on the main stage at Silverstone MotorSport UK (November 3-4). They will also receive a year’s supply of RAVENOL high performance oil and lubricant products and promotional support from motorsport marketing agency Apex Consultants, Silverstone MotorSport UK and their partners.

Individuals can enter by visiting the Silverstone MotorSport UK website – www.motorsportshow.co.uk. Competitors will be judged on their performance, overcoming adversity and their approach to motorsport. The judging panel will be comprised of Martin Capenhurst, organiser of Silverstone MotorSport UK, Carolynn Hoy, organiser of Formula Kart Stars, BRC series organiser Mark Taylor and experienced racer Mark Hales.

Capenhurst enthuses; “We are absolutely delighted to have teamed up with RAVENOL in offering club competitors of all forms of motorsport the chance to compete for a selection of prizes, which include three cash prizes, product sponsorship and promotional support, with the winner announced at Silverstone MotorSport UK in November.”

“In addition we have teamed up with RAVENOL, to offer an ongoing initiative which is open to any MSA license holder. Any competitor who runs a “The Spirit of MotorSport UK” sticker will receive 20% off RAVENOL engine oil this season and admittance to Silverstone MotorSport UK for only £10-making national motorsport even more affordable.”
