Scuderia Vittoria – “We are all there to win”

2 Mins read

Teams come and go in motorsport but Scuderia Vittoria have well and truly arrived. Formed in late-December 2010 by ex-BTCC racers Tom Ferrier and Danny Buxton the team mounted an impressive assault on the Renault Clio Cup and the British GT Championship.

“Our decision to go ahead with Scuderia Vittoria came very late on in December 2010,” explained Director Danny Buxton.

“After a very busy first few months sorting out the logistics of where to base ourselves, things picked up nicely and we were able to sign a proven Matt Allison and Luke Wright for our Clio Cup Campaign, as well as Michael Lyons and Charles Bateman for the British GT Championship which was fundamental.”

The 2011 results make for impressive reading, 7 podiums, 4 wins and 3 fastest laps in the Clio Cup; 4 podiums, 2 wins and 2 fastest laps in the GT3 class of the British GT championship while collecting 6 podiums, 4 wins and 4 fastest laps in the GT4 class; 1 podium and 1 fastest lap from a one off FIA GT3 round, 3 top eight finishes and 1 fastest lap in the Blancpain Endurance Series; 2 podiums, 2 wins and 2 fastest laps in Britcar.

“To achieve what we did in 2011 was a tremendous effort, to win four races in the Clio Cup, and to still be in the running for the British GT Championship at Silverstone, rounded off a superb first season for Scuderia Vittoria.”

After a stellar first year the team has expanded its operations for 2012 and now run four cars in the Clio Cup, a Ferrari in the British GT Championship, and a pair of Ginetta G40’s in the Ginetta Challenge.

“For 2012 we have expanded our operation further and have proved that we are a leading team in our respective series. To be backed by One Call Insurance, and have four cars out on the Clio grid bringing in some impressive results is exactly what we set out to do.”

“Our progress in the British GT Championship with Aaron Scott and John Dhillon has been very positive. Aaron is the quickest Ferrari driver out there at the minute and with John ever improving, I really feel that we can push for a podium towards the end of the season.”

“The team that we have created is a very hard working unit, and we all share a passion for what we are trying to achieve. I think that the experienced personnel that we have at Scuderia Vittoria, from former drivers, to engineers, is second to none. We are all there to win.”
