Ollie Hancock Joins Ecurie Ecosse For Silverstone

1 Mins read

With regular wheelman Ollie Bryant still recovering from injuries suffered in a car at Spa-Francorchamps in late July namesake Ollie Hancock will take his place in the Barwell Motorsport run Ecurie Ecosse BMW Z4 at this weekend’s Avon Tyres British GT Championship race at Silverstone.

Bryant, with Alasdair McCaig have one victory this year, coming in their series debut at Oulton Park, but Bryant’s accident at the Belgian track led to him missing the two race at Snetterton last month, knocking him out of the title race. However, McCaig remains in contention for the championship, lying in fourth place.

After Ollie Millroy filled in for Bryant at Snetterton 25-year-old Hancock will slide into the driving seat for this weekend’s three hour race at Silverstone.

Though previously part of the works program developing the GT4 Lotus Evora this weekend will be Hancock’s first ever time in a GT3 car having been unable to test the newly repainted Ecurie Ecosse BMW ahead of his debut.

Instead his first taste of the car will come in the opening practice session for the British GT field starting at 9am on Saturday September 8.

It is the team’s intention for Bryant to retake his place in the driving line-up for the season finale at Donington Park.
