Garry Rogers Motorsport has announced US Sports Car driver Ricky Taylor will join the Fujitsu Racing GRM team for the Armor All Gold Coast 600.
Taylor, who drives the SunTrust Racing Dallara Corvette Daytona Prototype in the US Grand Am Rolex Series, joins IndyCar racer James Hinchcliffe in the team’s international driver line-up for the forthcoming October street race.
Finishing second overall for the last two years in the Grand Am competition alongside Max Angelelli, British-born Taylor has cemented his reputation as a rising star in sports cars.
The 23-year old is looking forward to his V8 Supercars debut in the Fujitsu Racing Commodore.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to race with Garry Rogers team at the Gold Coast” said Taylor.
“I have heard a lot about the event and can’t wait to participate”.
Garry Rogers’ International driver pairings have enjoyed success in the past on the Gold Coast with a 4th in 2010 and a 3rd place finish in 2011. Team boss Rogers hopes to take that a stage further this year.
“We are looking to improve on those finishes this year” he said.
Hinchcliffe and Taylor will join Fujitsu Racing GRM for the international co-drivers test day at Queensland Raceway on 17 October ahead of the main event on 19-21 October.
