Orton Switches To JHR For 2013 Supercup Challenge

1 Mins read

Jamie Orton has announced he will move to JHR Developments for his assault on the 2013 Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup.

Former Caterham R300 champion Orton joined the Ginetta series in the final rounds of the 2011 season, before completing a full campaign in 2012, with a podium finish on the opening weekend helping him to ninth in the championship standings.

“JHR had a very quick car in 2012 and they are very passionate about the work they do in being very performance driven. I really like their enthusiasm and their ethos as a team,” said Orton.

Orton is looking to challenge for the title next season with front-running outfit JHR, the team that ran Tom Ingram to third in the championship in 2013.

“With the team expanding for 2013, we were in the fortunate position to be able to find the right person to join the team and Jamie certainly fits that bill,” added JHR team principal Steven Hunter. “As a front running driver with lots of potential, we are looking forward to working with him next season.”

Orton will also be making a return to Caterham racing next season, having already signed up to race in the new Superlight R600 class with DPR Motorsport.
