Ginetta enjoyed a successful 2013 Autosport International Show in Birmingham, with its stand being packed with guests from start to finish.
The stand, in a prime position next to the main Autosport stage, showcased some of the company’s best-known cars, including the G55 GT3 car, a G55 Supercup car and a G40, the latter being branded in want2race stickers.
This was to highlight Ginetta’s new initiative with them, with the partnership seeing them offering one aspiring racer the chance to win a fully-funded drive in a Ginetta G40 during the Donington Park round of the Ginetta GT5 Challenge in October 2013 – a prize worth over £6,000.
Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson made an appearance on the Autosport stage on Friday afternoon alongside Ginetta Ambassador Seb Morris, the duo discussing the Ginetta Junior series and the options available to young people in motorsport.
Ginetta stars from past and present also competed in a pair of remote control car races over the weekend, hosted by manufacturer Mardave, to showcase a brand new Ginetta GT12 car, with Coronation Street star Tony Hirst also joining in the action.
Hirst was joined by Emmerdale’s Kelvin Fletcher and singers Alistair Griffin and Rick Parfitt Jnr on the stand over the weekend, following a night of celebration at the annual Ginetta Awards Dinner at the Hilton Hotel the previous evening.
Ginetta’s were also in action in the Live Action Arena, with a G60 and G40R road car taking part in Autocar’s Best Of British segment within the show. The Yorkshire marque were one of only two to be invited to show more than one model during the feature.
