After entering three rounds of the 2012 season rhino’s Leipert Motorsport have announced they will enter the full Avon Tyres British GT Championship in 2013.

The team, which also entered the GT3 European Championship in 2012, will switch their focus from the German ADAC GT Masters to the British championship, planning a two car team using Lamborghini Gallardo LP600 machines.

“Our guest races on the Nürburgring, in Snetterton and in Silverstone have given us quite a good impression of the championship,” said team owner Ingo Leipert, “we are planning the use of 2 cars for the entire season 2013. Already next weekend, we shall have tests with interested drivers; however, not all driver vacancies are filled yet. Therefore, anybody interested can step forth and contact us any time.”

Marco Attard and Marcel Leipert gave the team their 2012 debut in the British series at the German track, finishing seventh in the opening race of the weekend. Attard also drove with Leipert in the three-hour race at Silverstone, finishing tenth, while Austrian Hari Proczyk drove to a pair of ninth places at Snetterton.

The announcement adds another European team to the entry list of the 2013 British GT Championship, joining AF Corse and Vita4One Team Italy in the series.
