Aston Martin Racing will now have two factory entries for this year’s 12 Hours of Sebring on March 16.
After a test session in the pre-season at Portimao in Portugal, AMR will test both of its Vantage GTE entries at Road Atlanta before Sebring, the opening round of the American Le Mans Series.
The #97 Aston Martin will be driven by Darren Turner, Stefan Mücke and Bruno Senna whilst the #007 will be piloted by Paul Dalla Lana, Billy Johnson and Pedro Lamy.
As well as this young road-racing talent Dane Cameron of America will test with the team at Road Atlanta.
Turner said of the Portimao test: “Although this isn’t the first time we have run the new Vantage GTE, it’s the first time we’ve been able to run it in anger and put some serious mileage on the car.”
“It does feel like a very good step forward. The team have done a great job over the winter and made some significant improvements. For me personally, it was probably as exciting to drive for the first time as the first drive of the DBR9.”
“I have a really good feeling about the car and I’m looking forward to the next test in Atlanta in a few weeks time.” he added.
