Breeze Returns For Supercup Title Defence

1 Mins read

Reigning Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup champion Carl Breeze has confirmed a late deal to contest the 2013 season with Total Control Racing.

Just days away from the opening three rounds at Brands Hatch over East Weekend, Wednesbury-based Total Control Racing have put the finishing touches to their three-car line-up with the addition of Breeze, who last season secured his first title success since winning the 2001 Formula Renault UK Championship.

Breeze took five wins en-route to the title last year and will be looking to repeat the feat this season.

“It’s great to come back to the Ginetta GT Supercup and defend my title with TCR,” said Breeze. “Although it’s a very late deal and with no testing as yet, I am very confident of starting the year well this weekend.

“I’m itching to get going and I am more determined than ever to do the double. It will be a proud moment seeing the number one on my car.”

Breeze’s return means TCR will be running two reigning champions in their ranks, with 2012 G50 champion Mark Davies joining the team this year, alongside Jamie Orton, who returns to TCR having previously announced he would be competing with a rival team.

“This is definitely the best team we’ve had in GT Supercup for sure,” added Brookes. “All three guys just need to work together to have the best season they can, obviously they’ll all want to beat each other and they’ve all got the same kit so we’ll see which of them can have the best year.”
