After only Greaves Motorsport set a lap time for the class on Monday the LMP2 – comparatively – exploded into life with both Level 5 Motorsports and Extreme Speed Motorsports entries joining the action. The team were also one of just three teams to set a competitive lap time in the hour long morning session, though most teams opted to stay off track in wet conditions.
The #97 Aston Martin Racing Vantage set the fastest lap of the day from the GT class on its 19th and final lap, just before a red flag ten minutes from the end of the session, brought out by the #1 Audi running out of fuel soon after it began a new lap. The Corvette Racing teams – the fastest on the opening day of testing were third and fourth in class, with the #93 SRT Viper second fastest.
TRG led a typically closely contested session in GTC, the #66 leading a top four covered by less than two tenths of a second.
DragonSpeed Mishumotors were fastest in LMPC, nearly a half second faster than BAR1 Motorsports two cars in the class.
