Joel Camathias and Andrea Bertolini have been named as JMW Motorsport’s drivers for this year’s European Le Mans Series (ELMS) season.

The new pairing will drive the team’s Dunlop shod Ferrari 458 Italia in the LMGTE class of the revamped championship, which begins this Saturday with a three hour race at Silverstone.

“I am delighted to have such a high quality driver line up,” said team manager Tim Sugden. “I have known Andrea for many years racing against him, and watching his many successes, With Joel we have a fast, reliable driver who has already fitted in straight away with our team. We are now looking forward to a great season”

For both men JMW Motorsport is a new team, but both can rely on GT racing experience Swiss Camathias having on the GT driver’s crown in the ELMS in 2006 co-driving a Porsche with Marc Lieb. Camathias was also part of the JWA-Avila line-up in last year’s FIA World Endurance Championship as well as a regular for Ferrari teams in International GT Open competition.

His teammate for 2013 also has GT racing titles with four FIA GT titles in Vitaphone Racing Maseratis, though his recent GT racing exploits have been with Ferrari in the WEC, winning the LMGTE Pro class of the 12 Hours of Sebring with AF Corse.

“I am really happy and excited to be joining such a strong team,” said Italian. “The team’s results have been excellent in the past and we need to continue that legacy. We have a good chance to this season and must remain focused as it will be a close Championship. I am very happy to be driving alongside Joël in the Ferrari 458 which is one of the best cars in the GT world.”
