Ginetta stalwart Colin White has announced plans to return to the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup next weekend at Donington Park.
White will make it five consecutive years in Ginetta series’ with a round-by-round deal in this year’s Supercup, competing when the dates don’t clash with his British GT campaign.
The veteran joined British GT this season with fellow Supercup graduate Tom Sharp, their debut at Oulton Park at the start of the month ending with a dramatic fire for their Ginetta G55 GT3.
“Coming into my fifth season in a Ginetta championship is testament to the success of the series and the enjoyment it offers to all involved,” said White, who is aiming for podium finishes on his return to the Supercup. “There is a quiet period between GT races, and I like Donington Park, and driving the Cup car, so it seemed like a good idea.
“Racing in the British GT Championship is the next logical stepping stone in both myself and Tom’s racing career, and we are there to highlight just how easy it is to transfer from the Cup series, into the GT3 class.”
White’s return reignites an old rivalry with Carl Boardley, the duo having competed in Short Ovals and the ASCAR series in the past.
