Action Express Racing return to Belle Isle for the Chevrolet Grand-Am 200, round five of the 2013 Rolex Series, hoping to defend their 1-2 result in 2012.
An unchanged driver line up for Action Express Racing will contest the event around the streets of Detroit, with brothers Burt and Brian Frisselle piloting the #9 Corvette DP, while Joao Barbosa and Christian Fittipaldi share driving duties in the #5 sister car.
“Last year’s race, finishing 1-2 in Chevrolet’s home event. was a huge highlight for everyone on this team and we’d like nothing more than to come back and deliver that kind of result again this weekend,” said team manager Gary Nelson. “It is going to be a new challenge with the changes that have been made to the circuit. The longer back straight and some of the new surfaces are going to keep the drivers and engineers on their toes to come up with the best solutions for our Corvette DP. We feel as though we are as prepared as we can be, and now we just need to go out there and execute on our plan.”
The Chevrolet Grand-Am 200 takes place on Saturday June 1, with the two hour sprint beginning at 12:25 local time.
