Justin Sherwood consolidated his championship lead in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge GB with two wins at Snetterton.
Sherwood made a strong getaway at the start of the first race as pole-sitter Steven Liquorish got bogged down, gifting the lead of the race to his Team Parker Racing team-mate, Sherwood.
The two diced for the first half of the race, exchanging fastest laps, before Sherwood made his break in the second half, forcing Liquorish to settle for second, coming home 1.6 seconds behind his team-mate.
Race two saw a dominant display from Sherwood, taking the lead around the outside of the opening corner, Riches, after Liquorish had a much better getaway than Race one. After just three laps Sherwood had pulled out a 2.5 second lead, extending to 5 seconds at the halfway stage of the race.
“I got a reasonable start with Steve,” said Sherwood. “We were side-by-side into Riches, fortunately Steve gave me a bit of room on the outside and then it was just trying to find the grip every lap, because every lap seemed to be different. I was glad to see the chequered flag in the end. A fantastic weekend, I gained the pace over the two races.”
Parr Motorsport‘s Peter Kyle-Henney rounded out the podium positions in both races.
