The 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans was under safety car for virtually the entire thirteenth hour of the race, following a crash that required repairs to the barrier at the exit of the Forest Esses.

Howard Blank crashed the #54 AF Corse Ferrari, which caused substantial damage to the barrier. Thankfully, the American was able to climb from his car unaided.

Due to how long the repairs took, it is as you were in pretty much all the classes, with the only action to speak of being numerous pit visitors. The LMP2 Level 5 car was one of those, which was wheeled back into its box with on-going engine problems. Another car in trouble is the #70 Labre Competition Corvette with it too having an extended visit to its pit box.

With the pace being slowed by the safety cars, the leading contenders in the GTE Pro class took the opportunity to take to the pits for a change of brakes. Both the third in class #91 Porsche and #99 Aston Martin were able to complete the changes whilst not losing much time.

Yet more rain on the pit straight also saw several cars changing to intermediate tyres, as the weather continues to cause headaches for the teams up and down the pit lane.

At the head of the field, the #2 Audi continues to lead, with the two Toyotas holding the other two podium places.
