The G55 portion of the Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup grid for Oulton Park has been boosted by three late additions.

Seven-time Supercup race-winner Nathan Freke has announced a return to the series. Running with the Century Motorsport team he runs, the former Ginetta G50 champion returning on a short-term basis to replace James Birch, who has left the series to join the Porsche Carrera Cup GB.

Freke is targeting a podium finish on his return, having taken two podiums, including a win, when he last competed in the series at Knockhill in 2012.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back out onto the GT Supercup grid this weekend,” said Freke. “The team has been working crazy hours recently to get the car finished but it looks superb now and I’m hoping we can christen its return with at least one podium finish this weekend.”

Joining the series to make his Ginetta racing debut is experienced Clio Cup racer David Dickenson. The former Renault UK Clio Cup and current Eurocup Clio racer joins the Supercup with Total Control Racing.

Completing the trio is Dan Norris-Jones, who is stepping up to the G55 class for Oulton. Norris-Jones competed in the first three meetings of the season in the G50 category, taking eight podiums in the nine races.

Norris-Jones’ graduation leaves Sean Huyton as the sole regular participant in the G50 class. He will be joined for the Oulton weekend by works Ginetta driver Mike Simpson, who is making his second appearance in the class this season.
