The Extreme Speed Motorsports team have made the most of the June break heading into this weekend’s American Le Mans Series’ Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park.
The Florida-based team held several test sessions and entered races in the Ferrari Challenge and GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series to prepare for their ALMS return after the break.
Despite having minimal tie to prepare their Honda Performance Development ARX-03b machines before the start of the season, the team already have their first ever one-two finish under the belt after victory at Long Beach.
Now as the team heads to Lime Rock Park for the next round, they will be looking for more success, after all four drivers – Scott Sharp, Guy Cosmo, Ed Brown and Johannes van Overbeek – made the most of the test sessions held during the break.
Both Sharp and Cosmo, drivers of #01 car, also have the added advantage of Lime Rock Park being their home circuit, whilst Brown and van Overbeek in the #02 racer will be looking to repeat the success of their first P2 podium of the season last time out.
The Extreme Speed Motorsports team is currently in second place in the P2 championship standings, just seven points from the leaders. Meanwhile Sharp and Cosmo lie in fourth place in the drivers’ championship, just ten points off the lead with Brown and van Overbeek tied for fifth place.
