Reigning Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup champion Carl Breeze increased his 2013 podium tally to twelve with a brace of third place finishes at Knockhill for Total Control Racing.
Breeze moved up from fourth on the grid to third in the opening race, a resulted which he repeated in race two. The Kings Lynn-based racer then almost made it a podium hat-trick in the final outing, missing out by a mere 0.060 seconds in a dead-heat at the line.
Team-mate Davies meanwhile started race one a lower than anticipated tenth and found himself muscled back early on, recovering to finish eleventh. Much improved pace in race two yielded a fourth place finish, before a drive-through penalty for a jump start in the final race left him to finish eleventh again.
“It’s been another strong weekend for Carl with two podiums, he really deserved three, though, and was very unlucky in the last race at the end,” said Lee Brookes, TCR team principal. “Mark improved his pace all weekend, in the second race he did an absolutely fantastic job and with another lap or two he could definitely have been on the podium as well – he deserved to be!”
