Organisers of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship have revealed a seven weekend, ten race provisional 2014 calendar.

Announced on the eve of this season’s final race at Donington Park the Midlands track retains its position of holding the finale for third consecutive year, though Brands Hatch moves into the penultimate slot in the calendar meaning the season will end with a pair of two hour races, the additional points on offer for the longer events sure to keep the championship wide open until the end of the season.

2014 will also see the championship return to Spa-Francorchamps after a two year absence. The Belgian track will host a pair of two 60 minute races as the series maintains the same variety of of race formats for 2014. Silverstone will again host the year’s sole three hour race. Oulton Park, Rockingham and Snetterton also keep the same format is in 2013. The Cheshire track also remains in its traditional position as the opening round of the season with race dates across the Easter Weekend.

“We’re very happy to share our calendar with drivers before the end of the 2013 season,” said championship manager Benjamin Franassovici. “A lot of work has gone into arranging dates and I think we have a good-looking calendar; the return of Spa is something I know a lot of drivers and teams wanted to see. We had a fun trip to the Nürburgring in 2012 and just a few weeks ago enjoyed our first visit to the Circuit Park Zandvoort, but a return to Spa was always going to happen.”
