After victory at the Circuit of the Americas in the previous round of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) TRG are looking to continue their winning streak towards the end of the 2013 season.
With that goal in mind the calendar reaching the Oak tree Grand Prix at Virginia International Raceway comes at the perfect time as Kevin Buckler’s team have three wins and a total of two podiums in their past races at the 3.27 mile venue.
“We are all very excited to be racing again at VIR and coming off our strong run at COTA makes it even better,” said Buckler. “We are “going for it” here and at Petit and I look forward to adding some more VIR hardware to our trophy cases. The team is ready!!”
As well as the race successes at VIR driver Damien Faulkner took pole position in the GTC class in the corresponding race last year and the Irishman comes to VIR after a week driving Aston Martins at Lime Rock Park in both the Rolex Series and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
Meanwhile Ben Keating, Faulkner’s co-driver in the #66 Porsche, had the weekend away from the race track though his – and the team’s focus now turns to Saturday’s two hour, 40 minute race, the penultimate round of the ALMS.
