BTCC Supports 2013: The Season In Numbers

After an action-packed season for the five support series of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, thecheckeredflag.co.uk have decided to bring together all the statistics and records you need to know about the 2013 season:

5 – Josh Files’ success means Team Pyro have now housed five of the last six Renault UK Clio Cup driver’s champions, following Ben Winrow, Phil Glew, Dave Newsham and Jack Goff.

8 – Eight different drivers tasted victory in the Renault UK Clio Cup and Ginetta GT Supercup this season, the joint highest amount of all the championships.

11 – Harry Woodhead and Tom Ingram each picked up eleven race wins this season, equalling Seb Morris’ Ginetta Junior and Tom Sharp’s Ginetta Supercup records respectively.

13 – While Dan Cammish may have dominated the Formula Ford season, the series produced thirteen different podium finishers over the year, more than any other championship.

22 – Tom Ingram took 22 consecutive podium finishes in his title-winning campaign, a new Supercup record for most podiums in a season and most consecutive podiums.

24 – Dan Cammish won 24 out of 24 Formula Ford GB races this season, comfortably a new modern-era championship record for most wins in a season and most consecutive wins.

25 – The Renault UK Clio Cup produced the biggest grid on the support package this season, with 25 cars lining up at Rockingham.

30 – Tom Ingram showed incredible pace in Round 22 of the Ginetta GT Supercup at Rockingham to win by 30.861 seconds, the biggest race-winning margin of the season.

38 – Two-time Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Michael Meadows’ 13 podiums this season makes it 38 rostrum finishes in 59 races in his last three years in the series.

67 – Josh Files took 19 podium finishes from 28 races (67.86%) across his title-winning campaigns in the Renault UK Clio Cup and Eurocup Clio Championship.

100 – Harry Woodhead and Dan Cammish both finished 100% of the races they competed in on the podium en-route to their respective championship titles.

120 – A total of 120 different drivers have competed on the support package this season across the five championships. (Only James Birch and Connor Mills have competed in two different series)
