Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will being his 2014 season at the 52nd running of the Rolex 24 at Daytona on 25-26 January.
Racing with Alex Job Racing in the WeatherTech #22 Porsche 911 GT America, the Canadian will join Cooper MacNeil, Leh Keen and Shane van Gisbergen in their bid for success in the new GT Daytona class as part of the new TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.
“I’m very happy to once again be part of the Alex Job Racing/WeatherTech team, there is great chemistry between us,” said Dumoulin. “The practice has been promising; we’ve accomplished great lap times. The level of competition is high in the GTD class, my teammates are fast and it’s looking very good for the 24.”
The 2014 season-opener will be Dumoulin’s third time at the Rolex 24, having driven a Porsche GT3 in 2008 and a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype 12 months ago. He has also tasted success with Alex Job Racing before, finishing on the podium with the team at the 12 Hours of Sebring.
“It’s even more interesting with a top-of-the-line team such as Alex Job Racing/WeatherTech, which has the potential to win the race,” added the Quebec-based racer. “We will fight alongside very good drivers of international fame. I’m very excited to be on the track for the 24 at Daytona for the third time in my career, especially with the support of our partner in NASCAR Canada, WeatherTech, it’s just fantastic.”
