James Walker has been named as the final part of Fall–Line Motorsports’ drive line-up for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The team will run and Audi R8 LMS in the race, and in the rest of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in the GT Daytona class, having started running with the car during the course of the 2013 season.
In joining the team Walker will join countryman, and past rival, Oliver Jarvis for the Rolex 24. While Walker’s 2013 included outings in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship as well as an LMP2 class win in the Six Hours of Silverstone FIA World Endurance Championship race Jarvis’ 2013 started with a class win at Daytona International Speedway, driving Alex Job Racing’s Audi R8 LMS to the GT victory.
Walker and Jarvis will join the team’s pair of regular drivers, Charles Espenlaub and Charles Putman.
“It’s great to be partnering Oliver Jarvis at Daytona,” said Walker. “I raced against him in both British Formula Ford and British Formula 3. With his Audi experience he’s the perfect team mate – I’m sure I’ll be able to learn a lot about this year’s Audi R8 LMS from him.”
He continued; “it was a great surprise. I’m really looking forward to getting to grips with the Audi R8 LMS. Audi had an exceptional Daytona last year so I’m sure they will be doing everything they can to secure back-to-back victories. The team has already tested at Daytona in November and I will be in the car for the next test, starting on January 3rd. Having driven a wide range of GT machinery in the last 3 years, I’m sure I’ll get up to speed with the R8 LMS quickly and I’m looking forward to working with Charlie, Charles and the rest of the Fall-Line team.”
“We are extremely excited to have James join Fall-Line Motorsports for Daytona,” said team manager Michael Harvey. “With his proven speed and understanding of how to win endurance events, he was the perfect complement to our line up and he adds strength to both Fall-Line and Audi’s quest to repeat at Daytona.”
The Fall-Line team – together with much of the field for the Rolex 24 at Daytona – will take part in the Roar Before the 24 test at Daytona International Speedway, starting on January 3.
