The CNC Heads Sports/Saloons Championship has announced a record entry list for 2014 in what is the championship’s 30th anniversary.
Organised by the British Automobile Racing Club, the championship has seen more than 60 entries sign up to the twelve round championship, which begins this weekend at Oulton Park.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating three decades of the CNC Heads Sports/Saloon Championship in 2014, with what looks like being one of the most exciting seasons in the North-West Centre’s history,” said championship co-ordinator John Leck.
“Anybody who has competed in this championship will tell you that it is one of the friendliest and most welcoming places to race, but don’t be fooled, because it is also fiercely-contested in every single class. What’s more, with the added incentives of no registration fee and end-of-season prize money up for grabs, the bumper grids and close, non-contact racing will keep fans entertained right the way through the campaign.”
Six champions have declared they are taking part in the championship for road cars with any number of modifications.
Last year’s champion Simon Allaway is back in his Daytona Prototype engined Lotus Esprit, as is championship sponsor Ric Wood in his ex work’s Opel DTM racer. These all compliment BMW super tourers, silhouettes and a smattering of Caterham Sevens.
