M-Sport Bentley has announced a six-strong line-up for the 2014 Blancpain Endurance Series.
The first of the 2014 Bentley Boys is Guy Smith, who has raced with Bentley since 2001, with the major highlight of his Bentley career so far being his 2003 victory at Le Mans with the Speed 8. For 2014 he will be joined by Andy Meyrick, who is also racing in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship for DeltaWing Racing this season, and Steven Kane, who is racing with Strakka Racing this year in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
In the second Continental GT3 will be former A1GP, Porsche Carrera Cup and British GT racer Duncan Tappey, with former F1 driver Jerome D’Ambrosio of Belgium and the first French Bentley Boy since Jean Chassagn in 1920, Antoine Leclerc, joining him.
“Our six modern day Bentley Boys give me great confidence for the year ahead,” says Brian Gush, Bentley’s Director of Motorsport. “The selection process has been tough after having had so much interest, but these six racers have shown the prodigious talent combined with the experienced, dedicated approach that we need.
“The whole team is now in final preparations for the season ahead, and we’re all extremely eager to get to Monza so that the real racing can begin.”
The first race for Bentley in 2014 is the Three Hours of Monza on April 13, followed by the Three Hours of Silverstone on May 25.
