Watson “Fired Up” For Thruxton Success

1 Mins read

Andrew Watson is “more fired up than ever” to taste success at Thruxton this weekend and regain his Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup championship lead.

The 19 year old had led the way after a treble podium finish on the opening weekend at Brands Hatch, but lost the advantage to Charlie Robertson last time out at Donington Park.

Watson is only two points back though after fifth, third and tenth place finishes in Leicestershire, and after topping pre-event testing earlier this month at Thruxton, he’s confident of overhauling Robertson this weekend.

“Donington Park is one of Charlie Robertson’s best tracks and we always knew he would be quick here. So to come away having fought hard and to only be two points behind him, is a good result,” said Watson.

“I’m looking forward to moving onto Thruxton Circuit. I was quickest there in practice and so we’re feeling pretty confident. We’re certainly looking for wins and now we’re more fired up than ever by all accounts.”
