Manx Radio TT Celebrates 50 Years of Broadcasting

Manx Radio TT, the dedicated radio service to the Isle of Man TT, will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary at the 2014 Isle of Man TT Races, having first broadcast the Senior Race Day in June 1964.

The station will start broadcasting this year on Monday 26th May at 7:30am, providing a mixture of music, news and entertainment in addition to its extensive qualifying and race commentary service throughout the two weeks of the TT.

Former British Champion and TT race winner Chris Palmer, a new addition to Manx Radio TT, will join Chris Kinley for all evening practice sessions. Kinley will also host the morning Chat Shows from the studio behind the Grandstand, although the show will venture out to Billown, Creg-ny-Baa and campsites for live chat shows with various TT stars.

Another new addition to the line-up is Rachael Clegg, whose father Noel once raced at the TT. Clegg will join Marc Tyler as co-presenter and interviewer on the TT Diner.

Manx Radio breakfast show host Chris Williams will take control of the afternoon ‘After Burner’ show, while Stu Peters and Simon Quine will be providing an eclectic mix of music during the evenings.

Meanwhile, Tim Glover retains his place as anchor commentator at the Grandstand, while Dave Christian will be at the first checkpoint at Glen Helen and Roy Moore returning to his traditional spot at the Ramsey Hairpin. Chris Kinley will be providing live updates from the startline, pitlane and parc ferme, talking to riders as they head to the line and return to the Grandstand.
