Massot Hungry For Thruxton Hat-Trick

1 Mins read

Pepe Massot has set his sights on becoming only the third driver in Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup history to complete a hat-trick of wins on a single race weekend during the championship’s annual visit to Thruxton this weekend.

The Spaniard’s confidence is high after a return to form during the last meeting at Donington Park two weeks ago, and he is now aiming to replicate the feats of Tom Sharp (four times) and Tom Ingram (once) by winning three races in a weekend.

Massot bounced back from a nightmare season opener at Brands Hatch with a win and a second place at Donington, making it three career Supercup victories for the 18 year old.

He now hopes to continue that momentum into Thruxton and take a big chunk out of championship leader Charlie Robertson’s 44 point advantage over him in the points standings.

“My aim for Thruxton is to be on pole and win all three races,” said Massot, who finished second overall in the official pre-event test at Thruxton last month.

“The season has not gone the way it should have from the beginning really. Donington was a bit better than Brands Hatch, and at least we took one win from the weekend, but we’re aiming for more – I’m hungry for much more than that. The results we work so hard for have not come yet, but I’m confident Thruxton can be a turning point for us.”
