Scott Pruett and Chip Ganassi Racing have continued Ford’s reign at the top of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship time sheets as their EcoBoost engine once again did the job in practice.

Setting a time of 1:26.582 veteran racer Pruett put his Riley-Ford ahead of Richard Westbrook in the #90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette who was 0.328 slower.

In a sign that the P2s may have just had a momentary lack of pace in the first practice session, Ryan Dalziel put the Extreme Speed Motorsports HPD into third with a time of 1:27.027 and Gustavo Yacaman in the OAK Morgan-Nissan was just under a tenth further back.

In GT Daytona, it was another good showing for Flying Lizards in their Audi R8 LMS in a sign that they will be the squad to beat. Spencer Pumpelly claimed top honours with the Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT America of Leh Keen close behind.

Behind – and completing German domination at the head of the class – was Kuba Giermaziak in the NGT Motorsport Porsche.

The session saw three red flags, compared to just one in the first session, two were for debris and the final was to recover the Porsche of Sebastian Asch racing for Muehlner Motorsports who hit the barriers at turn one.
