Burns Receives Penalty And Loses Croft Podium

1 Mins read

Will Burns has had his first Ginetta GT4 Supercup podium taken away from him after receiving a penalty from the stewards this morning (29th June).

Burns was penalised with a two second penalty for exceeding track limits at the hairpin.

In an attempt to avoid other drivers Burns took evasive action and placed all four wheels off the track so to not damage the underside of the car like Andrew Watson.

Incidentally Watson would have also received a penalty had he been within two seconds of a car behind, but the Douglas Motorsport driver was well clear of the chasing Dan Norris-Jones.

Burns penalty moved The Century Motorsport of Tom Oliphant up to third and United Autosports Luke Davenport up to fourth.

The penalty also affects the round 13 grid. Burns will now start from fifth with Oliphant and Davenport in third and fourth.
