Matt Griffin Positive Ahead of the Glen Six Hours

1 Mins read

Matt Griffin is feeling positive ahead of this weekend’s Sahlen’s 6 hours of the Glen, the third combined race of the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship.

Griffin, who is racing in the North American Endurance Cup (NAEC) for Spirit of Race, will once again team up with Michele Rugolo and Jack Gerber in the #51 GTD Ferrari 458, with a 38th place at the Daytona 24 Hours and a 39th place finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring leaving  them 22nd in the NAEC standings heading into the 33rd running of the Sahlen’s 6 hours of the Glen.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend,” said the Irishman. “The NAEC is a great championship and the 6 hour of the Glen is a big race. Friday was the first time I drive the track so I’m looking forward to experiencing a race that everybody tells me is amazing.

“I felt we were unlucky at Sebring with an issue for my team mate at the start of the race. We were very fast however and came from last position to finish in 14th. Hopefully we can carry the speed we had there into this weekend.”

Qualifying for the race takes place this evening, with the race itself getting underway tomorrow, Sunday, June 28, at 1600 GMT and can be watched live on Motors TV in Europe.
