Robertson Heads Oulton Official Supercup Testing

1 Mins read

Charlie Robertson got his Oulton Park weekend off to a perfect start with the fastest time in official Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup pre-event testing today (6th June).

The HHC Motorsport racer bounced back in the best way possible after a tough weekend last time out at Thruxton, with his best time of 1m 40.998s in the first of the day’s opening session putting him top of the timesheets.

Second quickest overall was championship leader Andrew Watson, the Douglas Motorsport ace posting a best time of 1m 41.133s in the opening session to finish up 0.135 seconds adrift of Robertson.

While the top two set their best times in the opener, the next four on the timesheets posted theirs in the second session. Ending the day third overall was Carl Breeze ahead of Tom Oliphant and David Pittard, the top five separated by 0.776 seconds.

Completing the top six was Breeze’s team-mate Luke Davenport to cap off a positive day for the United Autosports team. Just taking seventh was Pepe Massot, 0.003 seconds ahead of Jamie Orton, both drivers finishing up over 1.7 seconds slower than the pace-setter Robertson.

Academy Motorsport pairing Will Burns and Sean Huyton completed the top ten, the latter having not setted a competitive time in the second session.

Alongside the two official test sessions, the majority of the Supercup contenders got extra running late in the day in a combined session with the HSCC Super Touring Car Championship contenders.
