United Autosports’ Dean Delighted With Supercup Progress

1 Mins read

United Autosports team owner Richard Dean has described the first half of their maiden season in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup as ‘fantastic’, with the team currently leading the Teams Championship.

The experienced sportscar outfit joined the Supercup at the start of the season alongside their expansion into the British Touring Car Championship, and their campaign got off to a superb start with victory for Supercup rookie Luke Davenport on the opening weekend at Brands Hatch.

On top of that win, Davenport has also added further top three finishes at Donington Park and Oulton Park, while his experienced team-mate Carl Breeze has finished in the top six in all races bar two, with six podium finishes including a double win at Croft.

Breeze and Davenport currently sit fourth and sixth respectively in the drivers championship, the former targeting a second Supercup title, while the team currently hold a 102 point advantage over Century Motorsport in the teams standings.

“The Ginetta programme is fantastic,” reflected Dean. “Now Carl and Luke have got their heads round the cars we are regularly in the top five, and it is a testament to them that we are now leading the team championship. Our aim for the second half of the year is to get both Carl and Luke further up the drivers’ championship standings and to keep challenging for the wins.”
