MOMO NGT Motorsport Withdraws From TUDOR Championship

1 Mins read

The #30 MOMO NGT Motorsport Porsche of Henrique Cisneros and Kuba Giermaziak has withdrawn from the remaining TUDOR United SportsCar Championship rounds, with the exception of the Lone Star Le Mans race in Austin, Texas in September.

The team’s decision to withdraw from five of the remaining six races is due to business obligations of MOMO Partner and MOMO NGT gentleman driver, Cisneros.

Sometimes you have to make difficult decisions and this is one of those times for me,” said Cisneros. “Racing is such a joy in my life, however at this current time I need to focus on business and family. Turmoil in my home country of Venezuela is affecting both of these and that needs to be the centre of my attention right now.

“I love racing and hate to step out of it and leave my teammates, Kuba and Christina (Nielsen), and Ramez (Wahab, NGT team owner) on the sidelines for most of the rest of the year, but it is what I must do. I look forward to the race in Austin in September and hope things improve in Venezuela and I can return to racing regularly.”

The Miami-based team have so far achieved a best finish of sixth in GTD this season, with that accomplishment earned last month at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen with Giermaziak and Nielsen driving.

The withdrawal now leaves the entry for the Mobil 1 Sportscar Grand Prix at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park at 40 entries, as well as dropping the GT Daytona class down to 19 cars.

Eduardo Cisneros, Henrique’s brother, will continue to compete in the #29 MOMO NGT GT3 Porsche 911 in the IMSA GT3 Cup Championship.
