Robertson Confident Of Building Lead At Snetterton

1 Mins read

Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup championship leader Charlie Robertson is looking to kick off the second half of the 2014 season by extending his points lead at Snetterton this weekend.

The HHC Motorsport racer enjoyed the five-week summer break since Croft with a healthy 29 point lead at the top of the championship standings, courtesy of four wins and four other podium finishes in the first half of the campaign.

As well as recharging his batteries, Robertson, who is currently on a run of four consecutive Supercup pole positions, has used the summer break as a chance to get more valuable track time in his Ginetta G55 GT4.

The 17 year old got two positive day’s testing at the Norfolk circuit under his belt recently, with the pace and consistency he showed during the outing filling him with confidence ahead of the race weekend.

“It feels like such a long time since we were racing at Croft, I can’t wait for the season to get going again next weekend and hopefully we can maintain our place at the top of the championship,” said Robertson.

“We’ve had a really strong year so far, things haven’t always gone totally to plan but on balance it’s been a great season. We’re right where we need to be in the title race.

“We’re really pleased with the set-up we’ve been working on for Snetterton, the test went well – the pace looks good and the car felt great, as it always does. There’s a great feeling in the team and we’re confident we should be as competitive as ever next weekend.”
