Robertson Joins Team LNT For V de V Debut

Charlie Robertson will make his European GT racing debut later this month after being called up by the Ginetta factory outfit Team LNT for the next round of the European V de V Endurance Series at Motorland Aragon.

Robertson, who currently leads the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup, will team up with Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson and factory driver Michael Simpson in their works Ginetta G55 GT3 racer for the four hour race in Spain.

The 17 year old has taken six wins and four other podium finishes in his maiden Supercup campaign so far, and currently holds a 46 point lead at the top of the standings ahead of the latest rounds at Knockhill this weekend.

Robertson tested the G55 GT3 for the first time at Rockingham on Sunday and is getting further time behind the wheel at Donington Park today (21st August), and the former Ginetta Junior champion is looking forward to racing it on his first visit to Aragon.

“I’m relishing this opportunity to race the GT3 car at Aragon, huge thanks to Lawrence and everyone at Ginetta and Team LNT,” commented Robertson. “It’s an amazing bit of kit, I got into it at Rockingham and was blown away to be honest by the sheer speed. I quickly got to grips with it, though, and really enjoyed my first experience.”

Team LNT have been front-runners throughout the V de V season with regular drivers Tomlinson and Simpson, and claimed their first win of the season last time out at Circuit Dijon-Prenois when former Michelin Ginetta GT Supercup vice-champion and current British GT racer Tom Sharp deputised for Simpson.

“The Ginetta G55 GT3 car has been on the pace since the start of the season, and we were delighted to take the win in Dijon,” added Tomlinson.

“Committed to aiding the progression of our drivers, it’s great to be able to offer Charlie the opportunity to join our factory team, experience the G55 GT3 and notch up another victory!”
