Hawkey To Make Ginetta Race Debut At Rockingham

1 Mins read

Esmee Hawkey will make her long-awaited Ginetta Junior Championship race debut this weekend in Rounds 15 and 16 at Rockingham.

Hawkey announced at the start of the season that she would be joining the grid with BTCC outfit AMD Tuning this season. While she hasn’t raced in the championship so far this year due to karting and education commitments, she has been present at nearly all the pre-event Friday test days this season to accrue track time in her Ginetta G40J.

With that experience under her belt, Hawkey should hit the ground running on her car-racing debut this weekend, and will hope to impress in the final three meetings of the season ahead of a planned full campaign in 2015.

Hawkey was part of the successful Ginetta team at the Henry Surtees Brooklands Karting Challenge earlier this year, and is expected to have a test in AMD’s Ford Focus BTCC car at the end of the season.
