GB Autosport ‘Feel Good’ After ROAR

1 Mins read

The annual ROAR Before the 24 pre-season test for the IMSA TUDOR United Sportscar Championship has left GB Autosport confident ahead of the first race of the year. The Tully’s Coffee backed Porsche GT America, known as the ‘Coffee Rocket’, ran a successful programme of testing during the weekend in a mix of weather conditions.

GB Autosport are preparing for their second year in the TUDOR Championship and took the chance to confirm last year’s data while familiarising their driver line-up with the car and the track. The ROAR was the first time that Damien Faulkner, Mike Skeen, Michael Avenatti and Rory Butcher have tested the #81 Porsche together.

The four turned in more than 160 laps of the Daytona International Speedway’s road course layout.

Despite small problems during the weekend, GB Autosport headed the timesheets in the third session. Gremlins which materialised during the weekend were quickly diagnosed and the team are confident that they will be sorted prior to the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

“Last year, as a first-season team, we lacked some speed but the car was reliable,” said Team Manager Cole Scrogham.

“This year, we know the car has the speed, it’s just a matter of making sure we are able to make it the full 24 hours to be fighting at the end. We feel good after this test. We had some small issues, but that’s why we’re here.

“The drivers were all very comfortable with the car and were acclimated right away. They share the same ideas on the car set up and we’re all looking forward to getting back here and being prepared for the full 24 in just over a week.”
