Orton Sticks With HHC For 2015 Supercup

1 Mins read

Jamie Orton will return to the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup this season, sticking with the HHC Motorsport team he joined midway through 2014.

Orton has become a stalwart in the BTCC support category, having first competed in the series in the final rounds in 2011.

Since then, the former Caterham racer has been an almost permanent fixture on the grid, securing three consecutive top ten championship finishes.

Orton has collected six podium finishes in total, with his sole win so far coming in the final race of 2013.

Teaming up with reigning champions HHC for the full 2015 campaign, Orton feels he has his best chance yet of achieving consistent front-running success.

“I love my racing and I believe in my ability, but things hadn’t quite gone my way in Ginetta’s prior to joining the team,” said Orton.

“When I moved to HHC, something just clicked, so I’ve made space in the trophy cabinet for 2015… the space that was there for 2014!”

HHC ran Charlie Robertson to the 2014 title in their maiden season in the Supercup, the team having previously won the Ginetta Junior title in 2012 and 2013.

“It’s great to have Jamie back in our G55 team for 2015, he joined us half way through 2014 and fitted into the fabric of the team straight away,” added HHC’s Charlie Kemp.

“Jamie has always shown pace and this year we aim to make sure he is able to show this consistently enough to mount a genuine challenge for the always highly competitive title.”
