Parfitt Jnr And Oliphant Get Second Works Ginetta

1 Mins read

Rick Parfitt Jnr and Tom Oliphant will step up to the headline GT3 class of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship for the first time this season, competing in the second works Team LNT Ginetta G55 GT3.

The two drivers competed together in British GT last season, campaigning a Ginetta G55 GT4 with Century Motorsport. Regular pace-setters in the class, they were restricted to one class win in the final round at Donington Park.

2013 British GT4 champion Parfitt and Oliphant, who made a one-off GT3 category debut with Team LNT in the VdeV Championship last year, will line-up alongside Mike Simpson and Steve Tandy in the other G55.

“I am excited and honoured to be part of the factory Ginetta British GT3 assault in 2015,” said Parfitt Jnr. “For me, GT3 is the natural progression for my racing career and Ginetta is my spiritual home, having come through the ranks with them.

“It will be a tough learning year for me, but Tom and I are a formidable pairing as we showed last year in GT4, we work extremely well together and both he and I have been quick in testing, so the aim is to surprise people and ruffle as many feathers as possible!”

For Oliphant, it will be another busy season as he will once again dovetail his British GT entry with a full season in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 Supercup. He finished fifth in the category last year, taking two wins and eight other podium finishes.

“I’m am very pleased that Rick and I are joining Team LNT for our 2015 British GT campaign, having proven our partnership in the GT4 class, it was a natural progression to move up to GT3 and remain in the Ginetta G55,” added Oliphant.

“I will be also be competing in the Michelin Ginetta GT4 SuperCup and as an aspiring pro driver I feel it gives a real advantage to have a range of championships under the belt.”
