The Avon Tyres British GT Championship will enjoy live coverage of almost all the 2015 rounds as Motors TV revealed its plans to cover the championship.

Broadcasting every round – bar the opening round at Oulton Park and the flyaway to Spa – live to an audience across the UK and Europe, as well as a newly opened network for the Americas.

With the channel being available to 20 million households in the UK, there is scope for British GT and it’s competitors to receive a lot more publicity in what is one of the most competitive series’ in Britain.

Series Manager Benjamin Franassovici stated that receiving live TV coverage was a top priority for series organiser SRO over the winter break.

He said: “The championship has grown significantly over the last five years or so and the final piece in the jigsaw was to add regular live TV coverage. It’s something we’ve underwritten at some rounds in the past, but given the level this championship is now at it became increasingly clear over the course of last season that our teams and drivers saw the additional exposure as an important marketing tool.

“It’s testament to the strength of British GT that our entry list was full before this announcement. It is a huge investment to make, but the live television element undoubtedly adds greater commercial value for the sponsors, teams and drivers.

“Motors TV are also the ideal choice for us given our long-running partnership and their expansion to Freeview HD throughout last year. We know a lot of their viewers were calling for live British GT and I’m delighted that we’ll be able to provide it this season.”

The existing deal with Channel 4 – which saw a highlights package being broadcast the Sunday after the meeting will continue, with Motors TV also showing highlights and replays throughout the week.

Details of the round being broadcast live on Motors TV are:

Round Venue Date
2 Rockingham 3 May
3 Silverstone 31 May
5 Brands Hatch 2 August
6 Snetterton 23 August
7 Donington Park 13 September
